Terms and Conditions for The Sanguine Smith - Baby & Toddler classes
Professional standards
I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR).
Being a full member of the AoR demonstrates that I have completed a quality, nationally recognised Diploma in Reflexology and have support from the AoR.
As an AoR member:
· I am bound by the AoR Code of Practice and Ethics.
· I follow the AoR Good Practice Policy and hygiene guidance to ensure client safety.
· I will always be adequately insured for medical malpractice /professional indemnity requirements. The industry standard is in excess of £5 million cover.
· I comply with the AoR Continuing Professional Development requirements which ensures the practice is kept up to date.
· I am compliant with GDPR data protection, please see the separate Privacy policy. Your information will always remain confidential. Records are kept for 7 years as required.
· As a professional and highly qualified reflexologist with AOR status, I will provide you with the appropriate treatment and support.
Reflexology / complementary therapy disclaimer
· Reflexology and the treatments I provide are not medical treatments.
· I cannot diagnose illnesses or conditions and am not medically trained
· No cure is promised
· Some clients may experience temporary reactions after treatment such as tiredness, emotional release or increased thirst. These responses are generally mild and short-lived.
· Reflexology and complementary therapies are intended to support wellbeing and relaxation. They are not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. Clients should continue to follow the advice of their medical practitioner.
Baby & toddler class terms
· Parents or carers remain fully responsible for the supervision, safety and wellbeing of their child at all times during classes.
· By booking a course you confirm that you agree to these Terms and conditions.
· A consultation form must be completed and signed by the child’s Parent or legal guardian before starting any course booked.
· It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to provide accurate and relevant medical information on the consultation form and notify the instructor of any changes.
· The parent or carer must always be present at all times during training or treatments.
· Parents can only work on their own child during classes.
· The course materials and techniques taught are for personal use only. Attendees are not qualified to teach these techniques to others.
· Adults attending in-person classes must attend with a baby or toddler within the advertised age range.
· The attending parent or carer confirms they have read and understood the Guidelines for Parents and any materials provided in the Parent & Carer Handbook.
· The instructor reserves the right to refuse participation or recommend a different class if a session is not suitable for a particular child.
· All adults attending must be 18 years or over and be the parent, legal guardian, or have the written permission of the parent/guardian to attend with the child.
· Anyone behaving in a disruptive, unsafe, or offensive manner may be asked to leave the class. In such cases no refund will be issued.
Photography & Recording
• Photography or video recording during classes is not permitted without the permission of the instructor and all participants present.
• From time to time the instructor may take photographs for promotional or educational purposes.
• Written or verbal consent will always be requested beforehand, and participants are free to decline.
Health & Safety
For the wellbeing of all families attending:
Please do not attend class if you or your child has experienced a contagious illness within the previous 48 hours, including:
fever
vomiting
diarrhoea
infectious rash
Parents and carers are responsible for reading and following all safety guidance provided in class materials.
Important precautions
Babies and children should not receive treatments on the same day as vaccinations. Please allow 48 hours before resuming techniques.
Parents must never alter or stop prescribed medication without medical advice from a GP.
Reflexology or massage should not be performed if a child is unwell, including symptoms such as:
fever
vomiting
breathing difficulties
unusual lethargy
rash
head injury
If you have concerns about your child’s health you should seek medical advice immediately.
Babies and toddlers may feel thirsty after treatments, so offering fluids may be helpful.
Some babies may experience a temporary increase in bodily excretions after treatments.
If a baby or toddler becomes upset or distressed during treatment, the session should be stopped immediately and the child comforted.
Techniques taught in class are not intended to replace medical care.
Liability
Participation in classes and use of the techniques taught is entirely at the parent or carer’s discretion.
The instructor accepts no liability for injury, loss, or damage sustained during or after classes except where caused by proven negligence.
Parents and carers remain responsible for ensuring techniques are carried out safely and appropriately for their child.
Payment & Cancellation Policy
Courses must be paid in full at the time of booking to secure your place.
Missed classes are generally non-refundable and non-transferable, as spaces are limited.
In exceptional circumstances the instructor may offer a catch-up session where possible, but this cannot be guaranteed.
If the instructor needs to cancel a class, an alternative date, transfer or refund will be offered.
Changes to Classes
The instructor reserves the right to:
make reasonable changes to class schedules, venues or course content where necessary
cancel or postpone sessions due to unforeseen circumstances (such as illness, venue issues, or events beyond reasonable control)
Where possible, reasonable notice will be given and alternatives offered.
